Mumedi "To Death with a Smile" Poster
This contest called for designers to create a poster themed on the subject of death,
whether it be a personal reflection, the meaning that it has in our culture or country, how we fear, celebrate or overcome death.
After researching inspiration and past submissions to this contest, I had noticed many posters including heavily detailed illustrations and deep meanings. This inspired my minimalist approach, drawing from the classic phrase 'memento mori' and the small knot-on-finger visual we associate with memory recall. My goal was to allow the viewer to simply remember that they will perish, and for them to reflect on how they live in the present day.
